a review from the audience

Unsolicited and very welcome words from our patrons:

The four-actor cast of “An Ideal Husband” was terrific. Aside from the gymnastics of altering roles, they were remarkably effective in each characterization. If one relishes Wilde’s words, as we do, the production was beautifully staged and directed, and faithful to the text. We were wholly enthralled. We saw the British production brought to Broadway in 1997, when we fell in love with the play. Last night lived up to that standard. Collins is seductive and dangerous as Mrs. Cheveley, Watson is authentic as Robert Chilton, and Wheeler is superior to Rupert Everett as Goring. Donnelly had the toughest parts as the moralistic Lady Chiltern and obtuse Lord Caversham. But well done overall!!!
