online service fees are so last year

We ran an informal survey recently and asked people what bugged them about buying tickets. What came up over and over again was an annoyance with online service charges. And honestly, when we (I) buy tickets online for another venue, we're always taken aback when the service charge pops up. We've done all the work, why are they charging us?

We came to the conclusion that it's one of those things that's been done for so long, it's just what's done.

We've never liked doing what's done.

This year there are no online service charges. The ticket price you pick is the ticket price you get. There's not a will-call fee or a printing fee or a save-the-silkworms fee.

We also thought the subscriptions were unnecessarily complicated, so we replaced them with flex passes. You can get a 6, 8 or 10 ticket flex pass and book your seats immediately or dole them out as your own schedule comes together. You can still get individual tickets, too. (Don't let the lower-than-last-year price throw you.)

Let's face it, some of our plays are complicated enough. We love messing with your mind - just not in the box office.
